16th Annual Grassy Run Heritage Rendezvous

Setup is on Thursday, April 24, as the 25th is school day with
as many as 1500 children (depends on the weather) coming to visit.
Pioneer and Native camp with vendors, dancing, music and demonstrations of primitive living.

Setup is on Thursday May 8.

Friday May 9 is children’s day for the local schools with 500 or more kids visiting.
The All Nations Drum and Native Dance demonstrations all three days.

Fourth of July Parade
Hamilton, Ohio
July 4th, 2008
All members and friends of MVRC are invited to take part in the Hamilton Ohio July 4th Parade on Friday July 4, 2008, as a promotion for our Greater Miami River Days Festival camp held Sept. 6 - 7 this year.
Period regalia and unloaded weapons are the order of the day,
meet in the Butler County Fairgrounds at 1:00 PM.
The parade runs from 2:00 PM to approx. 3:00 PM.
This year Mark Fritsch will pull a 30’ IWLA (shuttle) hay wagon float equipped with steps for easy access on and off. The front section of this wagon will be reserved for The Southern Singers Drum Group, and the Mark Banks Family. Straw bale seating will accommodate 25 additional “riders”. Fritsch will have bottled water on board, so all you come down toHamilton July 4th, to walk, dance, or ride down High Street.
Two years ago, we won 2nd place in this parade.
Southern Singers Drum will be present and playing.
After the parade, you will be fed at a local eatery.

The 2nd Annual Fremont Cup

Miami Valley Reenactors and friends invited to dress in regalia for a show and tell and storytelling for the participants of the great canoe race. Canoeist will be ending their trip at this Riverside Celebration in Miamitown, Ohio. Picnic lunch.

Miami Valley Reenactors camp will setup on Friday and have a living history camp for the 6th Saturday and 7th Sunday. The civil war camp will be next to us and reenactments between our groups are encouraged.
No camp or vendor’s fee. Water, Ice, straw, porta pots and firewood provided.
Campbell County Heritage Association participates in this event also.
Location is by Neilan Blvd at Miami University in Hamilton, Ohio, near the banks of the Great Miami River. From I-75, take Exit 24 (State Route 129) West to Hamilton (onto High St.). Left on Martin Luther King Blvd. Right on Knightsbridge Dr. Left on University Blvd.

Apple Butter Festival
October 4 - 5, 2008
There will be apple butter making, selling, crafts, and music.
Miami Valley Reenactors will have our primitive camp with demonstrations of primitive living.
There is a $20 Vendor’s fee.
This is held at the Pioneer Barn at Hueston Woods State Park.
There will be demonstrations of making apple butter with apples and apple butter for sale.
